Each rule is a CMS entry with a name, a path, and a match type.
Match types
- Exact covers one path, such as
/test. - Prefix covers that path and everything under it.
Exclusions on a rule leave a nested path open. Safe routes (login, signup, recovery, purchase, checkout, confirmation, error) must not be covered by an enabled rule.
When the overlay shows
All of these are true:
- The paywall is enabled and the site is published.
- An enabled rule matches the current path.
- The visitor is not a signed-in member.
The overlay does not replace Wix page permissions.
